Ouena is an Arabic verb that means to aid. Our mission is simple: to provide help to the people who need it most.
We work directly with those who need it most. Our small team of volunteers has been able to complete impactful projects that are changing the lives of people in the Gaza Strip.
We have helped dozens of Palestinians start small businesses in Gaza. The small businesses help provide sustainable long term support for their families.
Ouena works to provide communities in Gaza with access to sustainable fresh drinking water.
Ouena volunteers identify vulnerable families and deliver food aid boxes to help support them
We have relocated refugees and impoverish families in to better living arrangements and have helped fund home improvement projects for hundreds of people.
We connect benefactors who are willing to take on a monthly financial obligation with vulnerable children in the Gaza Strip. Donations go directly to help offset their cost of living and educational costs. Contact us for more information!
The healthcare infrastructure in Gaza is teetering on collapse. Palestinians with serious illnesses must usually travel abroad to find treatment. Various NGOs sponsor the cost of the medical care. Unfortunately, sometimes this is not enough. Lots of Palestinians are unable to afford the costs that come with traveling for treatment. Ouena helps patients and their family cover the day to day costs and expenses associated with traveling.
Ouena's approach towards helping revolves around sustainable aid. Our approach is multifaceted and we try to find solutions for crises and ongoing humanitarian issues in Palestine.
What this means?
Ouena finds and develops projects that it then applies your donations towards. The goal is to provide opportunities that allow the beneficiaries to discontinue their dependance on humanitarian aid.
What does this looks like?
Ouena has helped its aid recipients start small business that provide them with a sustainable source of income. For example, we have recently completed projects that include a water distribution system that generates revenue on an ability to pay basis. All revenue collected is used to the better the community that the water distribution system is in. Over 200 families were directly benefited from this project.
Ouena has helped multiple families start small business in Gaza. Recently we have helped various recipients start a bicycle shop, a clothing stand, and a corner store.
Ouena provide families in need with housing repairs and helps provide housing for homeless families in Gaza. Ouena also sponsors the living and education costs of destitute children in the Gaza Strip.
The Ouena Team is composed entirely of volunteers. This means that your donations go directly to humanitarian projects with as little overhead as possible. Ouena is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit.
