Ounea completed construction of a water well that provides safe and accessible water for over 30 Palestinian families.
Our nonprofit's large water distribution project has provided reliable and safe water to dozens of farms and agricultural projects.
The second phase of our water distribution project included extending pipelines to increase the coverage area.
Ounea completed construction of a water facility that provides safe water for 200 Palestinian families in the Qizan an-Najjar village in the Gaza Strip.
In the Gaza Strip, there are multiple neighborhoods that lack proper water and waste infrastructure. Some families have to pay to have water delivered to their homes or hope that when there is running water there is also electricity to fill up their water tanks.
Ouena has recently completed a water well and distribution facilities in one of these remote neighborhoods. Our nonprofit has developed storage and distribution infrastructure that connects over 200 Palestinian families to our water well. We have also provided access to local farmers and small agricultural projects to help boost the areas economy.
Our model works on an ability to pay basis. Our water network includes meters that monitor consumption as to help preserve a scarce resource. Families are presented with a bill for their water consumption and pay depending on what they can afford. This has allowed for a self-sustaining project that serves the community as the revenue generated covers repairs, improvements and other projects in the area. For example, solar panels were installed using proceeds generated from the project.
